LAKE TAHOE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL & SHOWCASE SERIES EVENTS
RUNNING JUNE 30-AUGUST 20, 2023
SAND HARBOR STATE PARK AMPHITHEATER
Few theater backdrops in the world compare to the splendor of Lake Tahoe, and Sand Harbor State Park’s Amphitheater is pure magic and practically in Reno’s backyard. It plays host annually to our cherished Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. The grownup version of Shakespearean theater is replaced by the “delectable” sci-fi musical Little Shop of Horrors this year at Sand Harbor (Wednesdays-Sundays), while the Young Shakespeare, a D.G. Menchetti Education Program, is an interactive, family-fun outreach offered in 15 different venues in Northern Nevada. Monday and Tuesday evenings, Showcase Series Events fill the amphitheater with music and dance performances you won’t want to miss! Here is a glimpse into what the schedule offers:
July 10: Reno Philharmonic Dancing in the Streets: The Music of Motown July 17: Pablo Cruise (pop rock) July 18: Foreverland: The Electrifying Tribute to Michael Jackson July 24: Sierra Nevada Ballet: The Last Unicorn July 25: Pink Martini: The 9th Annual Prim Music Night (classical, latin, traditional pop, and jazz) July 31: Reno Jazz Orchestra: Hot House: One Night at the Savoy Ballroom

Back by popular demand, Dragon Lights Reno returns to the Wilbur D. May Arboretum at Rancho San Rafael Park! I personally visited this impressive display of creatively designed, larger-than-life lantern sculptures last summer and definitely plan to repeat this year! The exhibit pays respect to Chinese culture and celebrates biodiversity in the garden. Over 40 grand groups of glowing creatures line the path that
winds through the tree-lined garden. Bring along your favorite kiddos who will not only marvel at the eye-popping displays, but will also enjoy the newly expanded interactive playground. Purchase tickets in advance DragonLIghtsReno.org.

SILVER AGE COMIC CON
SATURDAY, JULY 8, 2023
RENO-SPARKS CONVENTION CENTER
Are you into Comic Con?? The Silver Age kind of Comic Con? Did you even KNOW there is a Silver Age Comic Con? What does it mean even? Well… Silver Age Comic Con is a one-day pop culture and comic convention originated in San Francisco Bay Area under the name of Campbell Con. The event is fun for all ages and a celebration of comic books, movies, Fantasy & Sci-Fi, superheroes, collectibles, and more. Just what makes Silver Comic Con different from the usual Comic Con? In a nutshell, it’s pop culture with a touch of intimacy. Get your mind out of the gutter… not that kind of intimacy. At Silver Comic Con, you won’t feel like you’re herded like cattle. Instead, it is a more personal, thus “intimate” experience. Silver Age Comic Con is a convention where “there are no strangers, just friends we haven’t met yet.” Discover more and purchase your tickets at SilverAgeComicCon.com.
