SHEN YUN
FRIDAY-SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28-MARCH 1
PIONEER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Everyone loves a great story, and Chinese culture has 5,000 years full of them. Historic epics, timeless literary classics, and mystical folklore make up Shen Yun’s world of deities and magic. Each of the four performances includes short dance stories of heroes who battle demons, fly up to the heavens, and visit deep-sea palaces. Packed with action, courage, and humor, these tales embody the wisdom and virtues of ancient China. It’s 5,000 years of civilization—reborn!  Purchase tickets in advance at PioneerCenter.com, or at the Pioneer Box Office M-F 11 am-6 pm and 2 hours before each show.

THE CHILDREN
THURS-SAT, FEBRUARY 27-29 (7:30 pm)

BRÜKA THEATRE – 99 N. Virginia Street, Downtown Reno

Brüka Theatre’s 27th Season
continues with a fantastical, sci-fi drama, The Children.  A transfer from London’s Royal Court Theatre, The Children was Lucy Kirkwood’s first Broadway play that debuted in 2017.  It tells the story of two retired scientists who have settled into an isolated cottage by the sea as the world around them crumbles, when an old friend arrives with a frightening request. The Children is a cautionary tale for apocalyptic times.  Intrigued?  Learn more and purchase tickets to one of the many performances over the next couple of weeks at Brüka.org.

LIBERTY FOOD & WINE EXCHANGE

Just last weekend, I had the pleasure of revisiting Liberty Food & Wine Exchange before heading over to a Pioneer Center performance.  This hip little establishment in Downtown Reno has it going on!  Service was spot-on, the wine was refreshing, and my Pappardelle Bolognese was out of this world. I savored every bite!  Serving up the freshest organic flavors of Northern Nevada ranchers and farmers, as well as quality cocktails and wines, Liberty doesn’t miss a beat. Additionally, the boutique market offers Liberty Artisan meats and house-made breads, pastas and sauces.  Make Liberty Food & Wine Exchange your next choice for dining out in Reno!  Visit LibertyFoodandWine.com for a peak at the menu and to explore other gems established by Chef and Restauranteur Mark Estee.
