Brüka Theatre’s 27th Season continues with a fantastical, sci-fi drama, The Children. A transfer from London’s Royal Court Theatre, The Children was Lucy Kirkwood’s first Broadway play that debuted in 2017. It tells the story of two retired scientists who have settled into an isolated cottage by the sea as the world around them crumbles, when an old friend arrives with a frightening request. On a much more serious note, Teens Speak Out…Glad You Are Here, is taking place this weekend at Reno Little Theater. The performance is a synopsis of “Just Like I Wanted,” anarrative through a series of flashbacks by Joey, a 16 year old boy who has taken his own life. Joey shows us the life he used to lead and why he chose to end it. But we also see the unexpected effect of his death on his classmates, teachers, and his family. Note that this show deals with a very sensitive subject matter, possibly triggering to some audience members. There will be a talk-back after each performance, lasting no more than 30 minutes.
