ALL OF OCTOBER
VIRGINIA CITY, NEVADA
When it comes to creepy experiences during the entire month of October, historic Virginia City has you covered! Hair-raising ghost tours lead curious visitors through the most paranormal sites of this old mining town. A stroll though the cemetery at dusk on Halloween night would be enough to induce nightmares for me, no doubt. Not-so-spooky activities for kiddos include a day out with Thomas the Tank Engine and a V&T Railroad Pumpkin Patch Train Ride. For a complete list of details and events happening through the remainder of the month, hop online at VisitVirginiaCityNV.com.
THURSDAY-SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17-19
PIONEER UNDERGROUND & LEX NIGHTCLUB
I swear, the comedians rolling into town just keep getting funnier and funnier. I hadn’t recalled hearing of Erica Rhodes until re-discovering her in a comedy video that opens with “It Is What It Is.” I then recognized her voice and I realized then that she has been a major contributor to PBS’s A Prairie Home Companion since the tender age of 10. She is flipping hilarious! I found myself sitting alone, watching her and laughing out loud. Don’t miss her rare visit to Reno this weekend. Go to RenoTahoeComedy.com for more info and ticket sales.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17 (4-9 pm)

In 1944, American playwright Mary Chase conceived the genius comedy, Harvey. This is the last weekend Reno Little Theatre tells her story of Elwood P. Dowd, a friendly man with a very strange best friend, a six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch invisible rabbit named Harvey. Elwood’s sister tries to have him committed, but Elwood and Harvey have other plans. Don’t miss this Midtown production that runs only through October 20. Visit RenoLittleTheater.org for more info.
THUSRDAY, OCTOBER 17 ( 7 pm)

He has appeared in over two dozen TV shows, directed over three dozen music videos, and has won two MTV Video Music Awards during his decade-long career. Here’s one of Tyler, The Creator’s most recent videos, “Earfquake.” I dare you to try not to laugh when you watch it! (Insert laughing-so-hard-I’m-crying Emoji.)
