VICTORIAN SQUARE, SPARKS

3rd Thursday at Victorian Square is on the calendar this week, and starting this week, will continue year-round every third Thursday of the month!   This family-friendly community event is a collaboration by 39 North Downtown, City of Sparks, Sparks Heritage Museum and Sierra Arts Foundation and brings together farmers, families, food, art and music for a full evening of enjoyment for all.  3rd Thursday offers celebrity chef demos and tastings, a tour of Sparks’ historical school house and train and a visit to the art museum and gallery.  Live music on the Great Basin Stage and a family movie in the amphitheater round out the monthly event.  Learn more at 39NorthDowntown.com.

RENO ACES vs. TACOMA RANIERS

The Reno Aces battle it out with the Tacoma Raniers at this weekend’s 5-game series!  The Aces’ last meeting with the Raniers in Tacoma resulted in a 1 win/3 loss record. So let’s show ’em who’s boss this time on our home field!  Here are the game promotions offered:

Thursday, May 16 (6:35 pm): “College Discount Night”  $5.00 tickets for collage students “Standing Room Only.” Buy these tickets at the Ticket Office.
Friday, May 17 (6:35 pm): “Fireworks Friday”  The Aces and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center light up the skies after the game with a dazzling display of pyrotechnics.
Saturday, May 18 (6:35 pm):  “Country Festival,” Nights  The Aces partner with the Reno Rodeo for a boot-scootin’ evening of wild west fun!
Sunday, May 19 (1:05 pm):  “Bark in the Park Day” allows you to bring your friendly pooch to enjoy the game too. Woof!  “Family Day” invites you to enjoy all the $1 hot dogs, soda, and popcorn you can stomach throughout the game!  Get down with “Bonanza Baseball Bingo” … It’s loads of fun!
Monday, May 20 (11:05 am):  “Military Money” calls all active and veteran military men and women to bring a buddy.  It’s buy one, get one for all of our service men and women!
