When you write a song for your beloved that becomes a massive hit for 25 years, how do you up the ante? In Deborah Zoe Laufer’s play Sirens, Sam is attempting to do just that. However, while on a Mediterranean cruise celebrating his Silver Anniversary with his wife, Sam hears the most beautiful music ever, jumps overboard, and winds up on the Siren’s island. There he must struggle with the seductions of the Siren, the terrors of middle age, and the tortures of creative failure. Ultimately, he must find a way to get home and win his wife back. SILVER LEGACY – GRAND EXPOSITION HALL
Originally a gospel group known as The Oak Ridge Quarter all the way back in 1947, the Oak Ridge Boys morphed into a mainstream country group in the mid-seventies, and the rest is history. Though the singers and players changed a bit in the early years, the current lineup of Duane Allen (lead), Joe Bonsall (tenor), William Lee Golden (baritone) and Richard Sterban (bass) has been together since 1973 (with the exception of an 8 year-gap when Golden left and returned.) This very group of singers released fan-favorites like “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue” and “American Made.” Catch the Oak Ridge Boys live this weekend, and purchase tickets online at SilverLegacyReno.com.

This Italian Lentil Soup is not only one of my personal favorites, but is pretty darn easy to make. I recommend serving it with a fresh green salad and a warm loaf of buttered crusty bread. Visit InteroRenoNV.com to learn how to make it!
