THE DRESSER: An Elegy To A By‐Gone Era Of The World Of Backstage
THURSDAY-SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 7-9
BRÜKA THEATRE (99 N Virginia Street, Downtown Reno)
Playing for its last weekend at Brüka Theatre…  Originally produced in 1980 on The West End and Broadway, The Dresser is based on the author’s experiences as dresser to an English Shakespearean actor. The actor, called Sir, is a vainglorious actor, the last of the great breed of English performers.  The play begins with Sir in a “bad way,” as Norman, his dresser, tries valiantly to prepare him to take the stage as King Lear.  Unsure of his lines, as well as who and where he is supposed to be, Sir is adamantly determined to roar his last. This bracing, heartbreaking drama becomes a beautiful stand‐alone story for the redemptive nature of theatre.  Learn more about showtimes and order tickets in advance at Brüka.org.
