The Southeast Los Angeles native comedian endured a difficult childhood, six years of which were spent in the “foster-system.”  Through the hardest of times, Haddish discovered that comedy was her ultimate outlet for staying positive through. And at 17, a brilliant social worker gave her the choice between psychiatric therapy to address her “problems” or attending the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp.  She chose the later.  Great decision, Tiffany!  If you’re up for a good laugh now, click HERE to see her talk about “The Ass That Kills.”  And if you want to enjoy her show live in Reno Friday night, buy your tickets at GrandSierraResort.com.

Intero-Weekend-Warrior-Banner-Logo-Only.png

THE CRUCIBLE
THURSDAYS-SUNDAYS, MAY 9-12
BRÜKA THEATRE – 99 N. VIRGINIA ST. – DOWNTOWN RENO

The Crucible.  In a small American town, a group of young girls are found dancing in the woods, and mysteriously fall ill.  When no earthly cause can be determined, the citizens suspect that a more sinister force may be at hand.  Long‐held grudges turn to violent disputes, humiliating secrets are exposed, the line between truth and pretense becomes increasingly blurred, and the citizens’ dogged determination to root out evil turns more deadly than the Devil himself.  Everyone is suspicious and no one is safe. Arthur Miller’s remarkable 1953 play, remains as relevant as ever and carries with it a stern warning about what happens when we lose our humanity and sell our souls to save ourselves. The Crucible plays through May 18 on select days.  Visit Brüka.org for more details and advance ticket sales.

SATURDAY, MAY 11 (11:30 pm)
LEX NIGHTCLUB

Rich Homie Quan takes the stage at LEX Nightclub this Saturday night with his chill rapper vibe.  If you’re a night owl and like to party, this may be the concert for you!  He’ll be on the stage anytime between 11:30 pm and 3 am.  He was born by the name Dequantes Devontay Lamar, and found a particular enjoyment in reading as a child.  While literature was his favorite subject, he dug creative writing classes as a kiddo.  That love for writing appears to have paid off, as his songwriting talents have carried him through a multiple released singles before producing his debut album, Rich as in Spirit in 2018.  Check out this video of Rich Homie Quan performing “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and catch him live at LEX this weekend.  Get tickets at LEXNightclub.com.

Reno has a fantastic new restaurant, and I had the pleasure of dining there just this week!  Lá Mint Vietnamese Kitchen is officially one of my new favorite dining establishments!  Their story:  “It’s been said before that the best way to share one’s culture is through eating each other’s food.  Lá Mint’s story starts with a burning desire to let people in Reno know that Vietnamese food is more than just Phở.  We wanted the opportunity to bring other classic Vietnamese dishes and introduce them, to show the variety of flavorful dishes that many people do not know about.  We want Lá Mint to become like a home for your Vietnamese food cravings.”  Cap off your experience with some of the friendliest service you’ll experience, and you may find Lá Mint to be one of your new favorites too!  For a look at their menu, visit La-Mint.com.  Chúc mừng (translation: Cheers!)
